Kuzu no Honkai ~

English Name: Scum’s Wish Episodes: 12 Genres: Romance, School, Drama, Seinen, Psychological The anime’s protagonists are called Awaya Mugi and Yasuraoka Hanabi. They’re a high school couple. Both are really popular students and everyone seems to think they’re perfect for each other but they each have secret others don’t know about. Mugi is in love with his tutor, who’s the music teacher at his school, and Hanabi is in love with her homeroom teacher whom she calls ‘onii-chan’. The reason the two of them are together is that they know how hard it is to bear the loneliness of loving someone who doesn’t love you back. Before I continue, there may be spoilers so please beware. At first, the preview/trailer looked really good. The art, the voices, the characters, everything looked really good, especially the art. I particularly liked the main girl, Hanabi. The first episode was alright. Somehow it tries to include some ecchi parts but it doesn’t really seem right to me. The first episode basically was an ‘introduction’ to the two main characters and their history with their respective crushes. I find it really unrealistic how they have crushes on other people with the same story but it’s anime so it’s okay I guess. The first episode made it seem like a ‘dark romance’ anime. It was pretty saddening seeing the unreciprocated love from both sides of them. I think Mugi is actually quite affectionate towards Hanabi as he’s always looking out for her and giving her advice despite he actually doesn’t love her.
