David Fincher is an American film director who is known for his Psychological Thriller. He was born on 28th August 1962 in Denver, Colorado. His journey commences from directing song videos and, after that, gaining recognition for them. One of these song videos is Madonna’s Express Yourself’ in 1989 and soon after that ‘The Vogue’ in 1990. Both these videos had bought him the MTV Video Music Awards for best direction. Later, he made his debut in the world of feature films with the movie Alien 3 in 1992. But this film was not that well received by the audience. After this, his second film, The Seven in 1995, had a better public reception. Later on he directed a number of movies like The Game 1997 and Fight Club 1999, with which he became a classic cult. After that, in 2002, he returned with another thriller movie, The Panic Room. With which he gained immense popularity and respect in the field of thriller movie direction. Flinchers films have received a nomination for 30 Academy Awards, out of which 2 were for best direction. He has also been nominated for eleven British Academy Film Awards. And he has also won the Golden Globe Award for The Best Director and The BAFTA Award for Best Direction for the movie The Social Network. Two of his most commercially successful films are The Curious Case of Benjamin Button 2008 and Gone Girl 2014. Both these films grossed over $300 million in the world box office.
Flinchers has also done 2 series for Netflix which include series House of Cards 2013–18 and Mindhunter 2017–19. He has also won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for the pilot episode in House of Cards. Fincher is also the co-founder of a film and music video production company which is named Propaganda Films.
Flincher to lead ‘The Killer.’
After Flincher Released his successful biopic “Mank”, he has decided to once again team up with this streaming platform to release his brand new feature film The Killer. The name itself suggests that the film is going to be full of thrill and suspense. It is rumored that Michael Fassbender will be starring in this film. But there is still no confirmed news from either Netflix or Fassbender. The script for this film will be by Andrew Kevin Walker and will be produced by Ceán Chaffin. The film is expected to come out later in September this year. The story revolves around a cold-blooded assassin who later in the movie starts developing a conscience. This change causes him to break down and affects his further killings. The character also faces Existential Crisis in the film. There were discussions on choosing Brad Pitt for the lead role of this film. But later they allowed David Fincher to give direction to the movie as he visions it to be. Fincher is currently busy preparing for his project “Mank” which was nominated for the Oscar. His Last film The Irishman had been a one time fortune turner but failed to make a long-lasting impact on the audience liked his other films did. But Hopefully, The Killer will mark his comeback and is expected to be a super huge blockbuster. Currently Flincher is busy preparing for his Oscar nomination and other films that will be coming up. Some of them are Shame and Steve Jobs one minute, and some other films like The Snowman, Assassin’s Creed and X-Men: Dark Phoenix etc. none of these are confirmed yet. Netflix has still not revealed any information regarding The Killer and had also dismissed Collider by saying that the film is still under production.
