Avengers: Infinity War is a 2018 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics. The movie is the second last of Marvel, Phase 3 movies, ending with Avengers: Endgame. Benedict plays the sorcerer/magician Dr. Stephen Strange who joins a whole bunch of Avengers to stop Thanos in his quest for the infinity gauntlet/six all-powerful infinity stones to kill half the population of the Earth. It was Avengers: Infinity War that Benedict appeared for the first time as Doctor Stephen Strange’s in MCU. Afterward, Doctor Strange,  the movie came out which did more justice to Benedict’s character. It tells the true story of two young British soldiers during the First World War who are ordered to deliver a message calling off an attack doomed to fail soon after the German retreat to the Hindenburg Line during Operation Alberich. The movie is a memoir of the main character, Solomon Northup played by Chiwetel Ejiofor. It follows him as he is kidnapped and sold into slavery for 12 years. In the end, when he is released, his family has grown and he is a granddad. The man endured and survived multiple plantations for years in Louisiana. 12 Years a Slave is an adaptation of the 1853 slave memoir Twelve Years a Slave by Solomon Northup, a New York State-born free African-American man. He was kidnapped and sold into slavery in 1841 in Washington, D.C. by two conmen. The film 12 Years a Slave was directed by Steve McQueen. Cumberbatch plays a “nicer” slaveowner, Ford. The actor has delivered a nuanced, fine, and compelling performance in 12 Years a Slave.
